Talya Deluya attended California State University Northridge, where she graduated cum laude with a B.A. degree in Political Science. During her last semester at CSUN, Talya was accepted into the Judicial Internship Program where she became a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Michael B. Harwin.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Talya earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. During her time at Southwestern, Talya became a Peer mentor, the Secretary and Alumni Chair of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, a Certified Legal Advocate for the Children’s Rights Clinic, and received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in her Defenses in Criminal Law course. During her legal studies, Talya served as a Law Clerk for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Habeas Corpus Litigation Division, the Hard-Core Gangs Division, and the Compton District Attorney’s Victim Impact Program. Talya also became a Public Interest Law Committee grant recipient for her work in the Hard-Core Gangs Division of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.
Talya is now an associate attorney in the Los Angeles office of JML Law, APLC. Outside of legal work, Talya enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and cuddling with her rescue dog, Luna.
