On July 4, 2013, a beautiful evening out as a family turned into a nightmare for those gathering to observe the Simi Valley community firework show. Just seconds after the show began, a large explosion at ground level sent fireworks streaming into the innocent crowd. More than 40 bystanders were injured by the explosions and ensuing chaos.
